My son, who is autistic and has severe cognitive disabilities, recently had a seizure after being seizure-free for 16 years. This has been a huge shock for our family. As his primary caregiver, I am now in the hospital with him, and I am unable to go to work. The uncertainty of when I’ll be able to return to work, given our new situation, has added a lot of stress and worry to an already difficult time.
We are doing everything we can to support my son and keep our family together, but the costs are overwhelming. The funds raised will help us afford food while we are in the hospital, pay our bills so we don’t lose our home or transportation, and get the medical supplies my son will need when we return home. Every little bit helps us stay afloat and focus on my son’s recovery and care.
I’m reaching out for help because I truly need it right now—to be able to eat, keep up with bills, and take care of my other child while we are in the hospital and as we figure out at-home care after the hospital stay. If you can donate or share our story, it would mean the world to us. Thank you for your kindness and support.
