Nine months ago, my family’s world changed when my dad was taken by ICE. Since then, as the oldest child and a new adult, I’ve had to step up to support my family. My mom is disabled and relies on oxygen every day, and I’m also caring for my two younger sisters. It’s been overwhelming at times, but I’m doing everything I can to keep us together and safe.

With my dad gone, our financial situation has become extremely difficult. We’re struggling to keep up with bills, put food on the table, and cover basic needs. My mom and others in our home have medical problems, and we often can’t afford the prescriptions and care they need. Every day is a challenge, but I’m determined to do whatever it takes for my family.
