As many people know, my most loving, amazing dad has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which has now been upgraded to one of the worst terminal cancers.
6 months ago my dad started complaining about stomach pains. Being the strong, stubborn man he his, he didn't want to see a doctor. The pain got so bad that he finally caved and went to the doctor. The doctor sent my dad home saying he had problems with his liver. He still wasn't feeling well so back to the doctor we went. After many blood tests and ultrasounds the doctor said that he noticed something on the ultrasound but didn't seem itoo worried. We trusted the doctor and continued living our daily lives. Something just wasn't right. My dad lost a significant amount of weight and started feeling worse than before. We went back to the doctor and he told us that he scheduled my dad for a CT scan but not for another month. He progressivly kept losing more and more weight and started getting jaundice. We decided that he has to go back to the doctor because he just didn't seem okay. After going to the doctor for one last time, my dad could feel a lump in his side and showed it to the doctor. The doctor ignored it and sent him home with strong pain killers (that didn't even help). We couldn't wait any longer so we decided to take him to emergency. Once we got there and got the results our world turned upside down completely. The emerg doctors discovered a 6 inch tumor on his pancreas. Things weren't looking too good and just kept getting worse. He had a surgery down but unfortunately the tumor was too close to a vital artery and the tumor could not be removed and it had metastasized. This was a nightmare come true. We were given a life expectancy of a couple days to a couple weeks. My dad is being moved to a hospice from the hospital. My amazing mom has been by my dads side which doesn't give the option for her going to work and bills just keep piling up.
We have received so much amazing support from all our family and friends which makes this a little easier. Many of you know what a kind big hearted person my dad is and how he was also willing to help anyone out in any way he could. His sense of humor never stops and still at this point in time he tries to make jokes and make people laugh.
At this point anything helps as working for mom is not possible as we all want to spend as much time as we can with him.
Thank you all for your amazing support. My dad and our family appreciate it so much. ❤
