Support for my daughters recovery after a tragic accident.

Hi, my name is Lily and I’m raising this fund for my daughter.

My 8 years old daughter - Summer was struck by a car while crossing the road after school at 20 Vine Street Fairfield 2165 ( Our Lady of The Rosary Primary school Fairfield) on Wednesday 12 December 2024. She had been waiting for the pedestrian light to turn green before crossing, as required, and following all traffic rules. Tragically, the driver failed to stop and hit her, resulting in severe injuries including broken right leg, with the bone protruding through the skin, and extensive damage to the skin surrounding tissue.

I want to stress that my daughter was following all the necessary safety precautions by waiting for the pedestrian light to turn before crossing the road. However, the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident claims that " there were 3,4 cars behind her and she just needs to go. That's because I didn't hold her , let her run off the road. And claims that she could not see the traffic light due to her car position at the time and the police have collaborated this statement. I believe this account is unfair, as the footage we obtained clearly shows that from the car distance, the driver could see the pedestrian area when the light turned green and had enough time to stop. This raise serious concern about the driver’s awareness and actions at the time of the accident

This heart breaking incident has turned our lives upside down. My daughter is currently undergoing intensive medical treatment, and her road to recovery will be long and challenging, involving surgeries, rehabilitation, and ongoing care. I have had to take time off work to support her during this difficult time, leaving us financially strained and unable to cover the growing medical expenses.

The funds raised will be used to:

1. Cover medical expenses, including surgeries, equipment hire, medication, and physical therapy….

2. Provide emotional and psychological support for my daughter, my 5 years old son who also witnessed his sister’s accident and I to cope with the trauma of the accident.

3. Support legal action to ensure justice is served and to prevent similar incidents from happening to others.

4. Assist with day-to-day living expenses while I am unable to work to provided for my 3young children 8 years old, 5 years old and 7 months old, so I can focus on my daughter's recovery.

This accident has not only caused immense physical pain to my daughter but also emotional distress for our family. As a mother, seeing my child suffer is the hardest thing to endure. I am doing everything i can to ensure she receives the best possible care and support.
