On January 8th, 2026, our lives changed in an instance. My daughter hadn't been feeling well, but that day her legs suddenly went numb, leaving her unable to walk without assistance. The numbness has now spread throughout her body. We’ve been through two emergency rooms and an ICU stay, and doctors are still working to determine what’s causing her symptoms.

Christy loves her job and they have been incredibly supportive, but unfortunately, working for a small employer they do not offer health insurance or FMLA. She is currently covered through an ACA plan with a high deductible, and she has exhausted her paid time off. To make matters worse, she cannot get an MRI until February 10th, leaving her in painful and frightening limbo—waiting for answers while her symptoms continue. This has been an overwhelming and uncertain time for her and for our family. Watching her struggle with basic daily tasks, while not knowing what comes next, has been heartbreaking.
