My name is Kiersten and I am a mother and grandmother who is humbly interceding on behalf of my daughter's family. Over the past year, my daughter and her family have faced a series of heartbreaking setbacks. Most recently, she and my six-month-old granddaughter were in a terrible car accident caused by a driver who fled the scene. We are beyond grateful that their lives were spared, but the car was totaled — leaving them without transportation.
Due to the baby’s birth, medical challenges faced by her father, and the costs of relocating to a new home, car insurance had become a luxury they could no longer afford. The choice between paying for life-sustaining medication or insurance was agonizing, but survival came first. Losing their vehicle meant losing reliable transportation to work, setting them back even further.
Once both parents found new jobs, they began renting a car while saving for another vehicle. Just as they were regaining stability, tragedy struck again — my granddaughter suddenly stopped breathing and is now in the hospital. Her parents are at her bedside, focused entirely on her recovery.
As a mother and grandmother, I’m doing everything I can to support them, but the reality is that their financial and emotional resources are stretched thin. They need help — and that’s not easy for us to admit. When a coworker asked if there was a GoFundMe, it made me realize that sometimes, allowing others to help is an act of faith.
We are trusting that victory will come out of this. Any assistance — financial help, community resources, or simply sharing this message — would mean more than words can express. The family lives in Baltimore County, Maryland, and we are exploring all credible resources for support.
Thank you for your prayers, kindness, and any way you can stand with us during this time.
