My father has spent his life making people laugh and bringing joy through his work as a comedian, musician, band manager, and actor. He’s always been the one to lift others up, but now he’s facing a challenge that has turned his world upside down. Recently, he suffered a stroke that resulted in a brain bleed, affecting the speech and communication part of his brain. His right side is weak, and he will need rehab after the hospital. My sister Rachael and I do not live in Florida, where he resides, so we had to fly down unexpectedly to be by his side. We don’t know if we will have to fly down more or if he will need additional care after the hospital. The uncertainty is overwhelming, and we are facing travel expenses, caretaker costs, and the unknowns of his recovery.
My dad’s creative spirit and ability to connect with others have always been his greatest strengths. Not being able to speak clearly or make sense will affect his whole life, and we want to make sure he has the support he needs to navigate this difficult journey. We are asking for financial help for medical expenses, caretakers, etc. We are trying to handle any and everything we can for him so he can focus on healing without worrying about costs. If anyone knows my father, you know he’s very prideful and doesn’t ask for help. That’s why we are reaching out on his behalf. Any amount helps, and your support means the world to us. Thank you for considering a donation and for keeping our family in your thoughts.
