My dad recently suffered a sudden medical emergency that turned our world upside down. He was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and has been in the ICU for several days, with more days ahead as doctors work to figure out what’s going on. The experience has been terrifying for our family, and the uncertainty about his health is matched only by the stress of mounting medical bills. My mom is doing everything she can to be by his side, but she doesn’t have enough paid time off to cover the time he’ll need in the hospital. With both of my parents unable to work and insurance covering very little of the necessary tests and treatments, we’re facing a financial situation we never could have prepared for. I’m reaching out because I want to help them, even though I can’t do it alone. My dad has always been the first to help others and never asks for anything in return, so I’m doing this for him. We would never normally ask for help, but seeing my parents so stressed about bills and unable to work has made me realize we need support. Anything you can give would mean the world to us.
