My dad, a U.S. Marine Vietnam veteran, recently passed away at home in Ironwood, MI and was not found for several weeks. His death came within weeks of the anniversary of my mom’s passing, making this loss even harder to process.
When he was found, most of his cats had stayed by his side and passed as well. That alone has been devastating.
He did not leave a will, and there are no financial resources to help cover his final expenses. As I navigate the legal steps to be recognized as his only heir, I am also faced with the unexpected cost of his cremation. His services are more than twice what my mom’s were, and I cannot carry this burden on my own.
It is incredibly difficult for me to ask for help. After the overwhelming support I received when my mom passed just three years ago, I promised myself I wouldn’t have to ask again. But I find myself here, needing support to bring my dad home.
If you are able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean more than I can express. If not, sharing this helps just as much.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and compassion during this time.
