As many of you know, my dad, Rich, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in the fall of 2025. After undergoing surgery and a long, difficult recovery, we recently received heartbreaking news—the cancer has progressed into his bladder neck, and his diagnosis has been upgraded from Stage 2 to Stage 3. It’s still too early to determine the exact course of treatment, but we are hoping to have more answers in early May. In the meantime, this uncertainty has brought a wave of emotional, physical, and financial stress. As his family, our biggest concern is making sure he can focus on fighting this without being overwhelmed by everything else.
If you know my dad, you know he is the kind of person who lights up every room. He’s always been a giver—someone who makes people feel welcome, supported, and cared for. Now, he’s facing one of the toughest battles of his life. Unfortunately, the cost of his care has already become overwhelming. Insurance is not covering everything, and since January, he has incurred significant out-of-pocket expenses. Along with ongoing medical bills, everyday living costs continue to add up, making this incredibly stressful time even harder.
My dad is a proud man who has always worked hard for everything he has. Asking for help does not come easily to him. Even now, in the middle of this fight, he still wants to continue supporting others. If donating isn’t something you’re able to do, there are other meaningful ways to support him. My dad has spent over 30 years in the home mortgage industry and is incredibly passionate about helping people achieve homeownership. If you or someone you know is looking to purchase a home, refinance, or explore a home equity line of credit, supporting his business would mean so much to him. You can learn more or connect with him at richdavisloans.com, or by referring others who may benefit from his expertise.
We are reaching out to friends, family, and anyone whose life he has touched. Any support—whether through a donation, sharing this fundraiser, or supporting his work—truly means the world to us. Your generosity will help ease the financial burden and allow him to focus on what matters most: healing and recovery. Thank you for standing with us and for helping my dad through this incredibly difficult time.
