My father, Jeff, is my best friend, he’s funny, goofy, and the best cook and dad anyone could ask for.

Recently, he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, which has already spread to his appendix and is beginning to affect his liver, lungs, and thyroid. This past Christmas, we gathered as a family, not knowing if it might be one of our last together. Despite the difficult prognosis, a 30% survival rate over the next five years, we are holding onto hope and praying for more time with him. The cancer is genetic, so there is a high chance it could return even after treatment.

The financial strain on my family has been overwhelming. My mom is caring for my younger sibling, managing the mortgage, and trying to keep up with my dad’s mounting medical bills. Recently, my dad suffered a severe blood clot that nearly reached his heart, and now he needs a medication that is essential for his health. Unfortunately, the grant that helped cover this medication has ended, and we are at a loss for how to continue paying for his care.

We want nothing more than to help my parents, but the expenses are simply too much for us to handle alone. We are reaching out to our community for support to help cover my dad’s ongoing medical bills and medication costs.
