My child was recently diagnosed with dandy walker syndrome, diabetes insipidus, and microcephaly. It has been an overwhelming and emotional time for our family as we adjust to her needs and do everything we can to support her health and well-being. Every day brings new challenges, but we are determined to give her the best care possible.
She has frequent appointments in Chapel Hill and Raleigh, sometimes several in a single month. The travel, medical bills, and extra expenses add up quickly. We are still waiting to hear back after being denied social security the first time, which has made things even more difficult. On top of that, she has latching issues, so I am constantly trying new bottles to help her feed comfortably, which is another ongoing expense. We are currently waiting for her ophthalmology appointment to see if she’s blind, and right now we don’t know if she can see or not.
I am so grateful for any support you can offer. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering helping our family. Anything you can give will make a difference and means so much to us during this difficult time.
