In a few weeks, my brother will be undergoing his second brain surgery. His first was in 2011 when he was just 18 years old. While his tumor is benign, it’s something he will be managing for the rest of his life.

In addition to the medical expenses, he will be out of work for approximately six weeks, depending on what his recovery looks like. His insurance deductible alone will be several thousand dollars, which creates a significant financial burden during this time.
