My brother recently developed a severe bacterial infection in his eye that caused a sudden and significant loss of vision. He is currently undergoing treatment, but his doctors expect that he will need cornea transplants in both eyes. Because these procedures must be done one at a time, his recovery will likely span two years or more. This has been a sudden and overwhelming change for him, and our family is doing everything we can to support him through this difficult time.

During this period, my brother is unable to work in his current job due to his limited vision and the ongoing medical care he’ll need. We are still early in the process, and we don’t yet know how much of the surgeries and follow‑up care will be covered by insurance.
