My brother was has always been a hardworking and caring person. he’s dedicated to his job, showing determination and resilience every day. Despite having autism, he’s always strived for independence, and one of his favorite things to do is go for walks. Recently, my brother wanted to start walking home on his own from work because he wanted more independence and already loved going on walks. We supported his decision, hoping it would help him grow and gain confidence.
On the evening of January 26th, my brother was walking home when tragedy struck. As he crossed the crosswalk, a pickup truck ran the light hit him at a high speed and dragged him, leaving him injured and alone in the road. The driver did not stop, committing a hit-and-run and leaving our family devastated. My brother’s femur was snapped in half, and he now faces surgery and a long road to recovery. He won’t be able to work for a long time.
The money raised will go directly to my brother and help him during these unforeseen circumstances and challenges We are deeply thankful for any help our community can offer. Any support, no matter how small, will mean the world to us as we try to get through this tragedy together.
