My story began in early September, I was sitting on the couch and my dog Zoey (Bitty) was sitting on my shoulder when there was a knock at the door. Zoey jumped off the couch pushing off on my right breast leaving a lump on my breast. I monitored the lump and noticed it has decreased in size but was still there. I made an appointment with my Dr followed up with a mammogram. After several mammograms, ultra sounds, and a biopsy I received the call no one wants to hear.
October 20th I was diagnosed with stage 1B Breast Cancer, on October 31st I met with the surgeon and decided to have a Mastectomy on my right breast. My Mastectomy took place on December 3rd and I am now home recovering with my family by my side, Pathology reports are still pending from surgery to determine what type of treatment I will need in the near future.
Being diagnosed with Breast Cancer has changed my life. This news has brought with it a wave of emotions and challenges. As I embark on this journey to recovery I find myself facing numerous expenses that are overwhelming. Deductibles and Co Pays, Medications, Future Treatment, Travel Expenses and Lost Income.
I am reaching out to my Community, Family and Friends for support during this difficult time. Anything you can contribute would go a long way in alleviating the financial stress that accompanies this journey.
With all my Love and Gratitude ~ Amanda
