My uncle Murali Krishna Godavarthi(56 yrs, old) has suddenly passed away on 6th June 2020 with a severe lung infection.
It all started on 26th May where he developed fever & cough symptoms. On consultation with a local doctor, he was advised to take typhoid test and it turned out to be positive. The doctor prescribed medication and suggested to get a COVID-19 test done if the fever didn't subside in 3 days. During these 3 days, the fever was mostly around 100 degrees and he started to complain about breathing issues. An X-Ray on 29th May revealed that Murali Krishna had a lung infection. All the private hospitals turned him away stating they are not admitting patients with COVID-19 symptoms. On 30th May, he was admitted to New Government Hospital in Vijayawada, AP, INDIA and moved to the isolation ward where the doctors took samples for COVID-19.
On 3rd June, results came back that he tested negative for COVID-19, during these 5 days, doctors kept him on oxygen support, gave paracetamol and B-Complex and no other treatment was given. Though he tested negative, doctors told us that he needs to be in observation for a few more days as they are seeing few patients with COVID-19 symptoms are not getting accurate results due to false negatives. The doctors kept informing us that he is responding better but having pneumonia symptoms and they will treat him for a few days and discharge him. He complained developing severe shortness of breath and no doctor was available at night to provide treatment in the hospital. He was worried that something would happen to him and wouldn't be there for his family.
And his worst fear came true, On 6th June, Saturday, the hospital staff called my aunt at 8:15 AM, told Murali Krishna was no more and requested them to come to the hospital to have a final look of his dead body and took him in a mortuary van.
Finally, 7 days after Murali Krishna's wife took the alive person out of the house to the hospital, returned cremating him. Can't imagine the sorry of his wife who can't be there together with him in final moments of his life.
Murali Krishna works in a small cloth shop in Vijayawada. He is a very hard working and sole breadwinner for his family. Words cannot express the shock of his wife(46 yrs), and daughter(20 yrs) is going through. Though we can’t bring Murali Krishna back to his family, we at least want to provide small financial support - till his wife comes out of the grief and figure out a way to take care of family, pay the bills & support daughter's education.
Please kindly support them and every small donation counts.
Funds collected will be transferred to Murali Krishna wife's account in India.
Be safe and healthy.
Thank you.
