Ms. Pam has been a pillar of the Baldwin community for nearly 40 years. Having moved to Baldwin in 1987 from Muskegon, Michigan. She started driving for Five-Cap Headstart in 1994 and soon after began her legacy with Dial A Ride. As a Dial A Ride bus driver for Baldwin Community Schools for over 30 years, she has touched the lives of countless children and families. Beyond her work, Ms. Pam has always gone above and beyond—driving elders to medical appointments, welcoming those in need into her home, and offering a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Her love for the Baldwin community is truly unmatched, and she has always been there for others with open arms.

Six years ago, Ms. Pam began her battle with multiple myeloma, a type of bone marrow cancer. Recently, her health took a sudden turn when she was rushed to the hospital with blood clots that spread throughout her body, especially in her lungs. She has been in the hospital for three weeks going through numerous painful tests. Her family has learned that she has suffered multiple mini strokes, resulting in lesions on her brain and cognitive deficits, blood clots in each of her lungs, a severe lung infection resulting in an extensive amount of fluid from her lungs removed. As if this was not devastating enough, we’ve also learned that she has stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized throughout her body and cannot be cured. As they await the results of a bone marrow biopsy to determine if any treatments are possible, they are facing the reality that this is terminal.

The funds raised will help Ms. Pam get her finances in order, keep her home and vehicle, allow her to spend her final moments surrounded by her family and loved ones, and help her grandchildren travel from Arizona to spend valuable time with their grandmother. The family is reaching out to the community that Ms. Pam has always loved and served, asking for support so she can be surrounded by comfort and care in this difficult time.
