Somerset Gables West Campus is home to Mrs. Pujols’ kindergarten class, where a diverse group of young learners—including several children with autism—are eager to grow and thrive. The classroom is a vibrant place, but the absence of an assistant creates real challenges for both the students and the teacher. Without extra support, it’s difficult to provide the individualized attention that some children need, especially during moments of transition, sensory needs, or emotional regulation. For all student’s who sometimes need reassurance and step-by-step guidance to settle into routines or participate in group activities, the lack of an assistant means they may not always get the one-on-one help that may help them succeed. Mrs. Pujols must balance supporting all students, including those with Autism while  keeping the rest of the class engaged, which can affect the flow of learning for everyone.

An assistant in the classroom would make a meaningful difference every day. With another adult present, children who need extra attention—whether for academic, behavioral, or emotional reasons—would receive support in real time. This would allow for smoother transitions, more effective small-group work, and proactive management of behaviors. The assistant could provide redirection, reassurance, and focused help, ensuring that no child falls behind or feels left out. For Mrs Pujol
 and her classmates, this means a more inclusive, balanced, and supportive environment where every child can thrive. The funds raised will go directly toward hiring an assistant for Mrs. Pujols’ class, helping to create a classroom where all students receive the attention and care they deserve.
