Background: Mrs. Marie George Mukuri Maka is a highly certified French Immersion science teacher and a beloved member of the Westdale Middle community.
Her work visa renewal was denied, and a team of Westdale Middle parents are working with immigration attorneys and the EBR school system to secure a visa renewal.
In the immediate term, we need to retain an immigration attorney for her and cover his costs. In the longer term, we are looking to help Mrs. Mukuri Maka with living expenses, her trip back to her home country, and finding people who can house her 3 children (who are at LSU, Lee, and Baton Rouge High) for the next year.
