My Gran Mrs. Altie Baker lived a beautiful 90 years before losing her battle with dementia on Aug. 9th. Gran worked hard for everything she had and was proudly retired after nearly 40 years of service from Warner Brothers sewing factory. Around her 90th birthday on March 23rd we had started seeing some signs that her dementia was progressing but then just a few months later a UTI ultimately sent her into a very advanced stage. Unfortunately as hard as the family tried we were unable to care for her at home so she was admitted to a nursing facility. The staff all called her granny and would fight over who was going to get to feed her. She treated them all as her own and would even sing to them when she was able. Between what family we have left we all made sure she had a visitor every single day and not a day went by that she was alone. We are all heartbroken that she is gone but we also find peace knowing she is no longer suffering or confused. Gran had just enough insurance for her burial but not enough to cover any other expenses/debts that the family is now responsible for. We are grateful for any help we receive as we navigate this process. Thank you all for taking the time to read this. Please keep us in your prayers.
