Support for Mother's Leukemia Battle
Donation protected
Our mother (Tanisha) was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on June 5th. On May 39th she began feeling weak and had no appetite or energy at all. She went to the doctor for a blood test, thinking that she was anemic. After all she had just been herself, playing with her 6-month grandson. Doing her daily activities as normal.
When the results came back the next day, it showed Acute Myeloid Leukemia. A very aggressive cancer in the blood. We were completely stunned, with our lives drastically changed in minutes. The battle is just beginning. Tanisha was immediately admitted into the hospital. The doctors said, "This is your home for the next month. "
They performed the bone marrow test, and gave her a blood transfusion. They're prepping her for chemo, which starts this week. This is a very aggressive form of cancer, consisting 7 days chemo and 3 days off. This will continue for the rest of June.
Tanishas life was turned upside down, forcing her to focus solely on beating leukemia and fighting the battle ahead. The challenges ahead are unforseen and scary. Her projected time-line on full treatment can be 2 years. I am setting up the Go Fund Me, to help with medical and living costs. Tanishas unable to work due to the aggressive treatments and side effects.
Any small gesture is greatly appreciated and can help immensely. If you're unable to help, please share with friends, family, FB anything to reach a broader audience. Once Tanisha recovers, any funds leftover will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. So that others fighting cancer may not experience what Tanisha and the family are going through. God is the ultimate healer, we are praying and putting our faith with God and the great team of oncologist in Toledo. Thank you everyone for your support and prayers. I will keep you updated as treatment continues.
Sincerely,
Nathaniel Bailey and family.
