Support for Mother's Car Destroyed in Rampage

Donation protected
Hello, I am making this for my wonderful hard working mother! She is the most kindest, sweetest woman on this planet and she would do anything to help anyone who is in need.
If you haven’t heard yet a guy stole a tractor between Magnolia and Pisgah and started smashing into things in Pisgah. In the process he smashed my mom’s ( Laura Marie Hagerman) only vehicle that is drivable. She thought they had full coverage on it but only have liability. Due to someone who was struggling with mental health problems last night she no longer has a vehicle.
If you would like to help in any way we are trying to get enough money to help her and grandpa get a car you send money to my Venmo or PayPal and it will go directly to helping them.

This is my Brother in laws experience on exactly what happened! It’s kinda long but if you want the full story.

My Wife woke me up around 2:20 in the morning frantic telling me that somebody is in town with a tractor ( it was a John Deere 4000 tractor with duals and a three-point sprayer on the back which I can only assume was stolen) and it is destroying the town. That they had totaled her mother’s car and shoved it up the street. My Wife and I went to town and upon entering town I noticed the tractor was attempting to drive through City Hall. The tractor was halfway through one of the garage doors closest to the highway. The tractor so wide with the duals it would not fit through the garage door and the tractor was sitting there spinning out with the tractor in gear and the operator did not seem to care as he was attempting to push the building over. I got out of my truck and ran up to the tractor and was screaming at him to stop, but I was very worried about getting ran over in the process. The guy was not in his right mind and he was not making any statements. At this point, he was attempting to back up and I had to run back to my truck because I didn’t know what this guy‘s intent was. I had thought about using my pick up to wedge against the tractor so he couldn’t move, but the tractor was pretty big and I was worried it Would not be big a enough obstacle and he would just drive over me. At that point I decided I was gonna have to hurt this guy. I grabbed my crowbar out of the back of my truck as he was driving through the second garage door of City Hall. As I was approaching him, I was worried that maybe he had a weapon and he was going to hurt me because I was clearly going to hurt him. I waited until he was in the building far enough to wear The tractor was spinning out and would not go further in the building. I knew the tractor couldn’t go forward and could only go in reverse so I would have a way to approach him, once I felt I had an opportunity I tried to close the gap fast so I couldn’t get ran over. At that point I realized I knew who this man was. Instantly did not want to hurt him anymore because I know this guy has mental problems. I dropped the crowbar and boarded the tractor and was able to get the key out of the ignition. I then started asking this guy what I could do to help him and what was going on. He wouldn’t make any statements. He put the tractor in park and casually walked away. I was worried he might have a weapon and I did not want to get injured so I just followed him in my pick up and relayed his position to dispatch. It took them 10 or 15 minutes to get here which seemed like forever. I followed him for about four blocks until we were down near the park, at this point I can tell he took out both of the basketball hoops in the park all of the chain-link fencing all of the posts that hold the chain-link fencing were torn down and he destroyed our merry-go-round. At this point I became upset again because I’ve lived in this town since 1996 and I care about my community. I got out of my vehicle and stopped him. I ended up grabbing him by the coat and held him there until the police got there. The vehicle that was destroyed when this all started was my grandfather’s and it was pushed uphill up a giant embankment and wedged near a house. When the police got there, one of the deputies told me that they kept getting calls every few minutes about this person and when they realized it was a real rampage, he told me he his plan was to pull out his rifle and shoot the person on the tractor. And honestly, I probably would’ve too if I could have. If I had to guess I don’t think he was probably on the tractor destroying things for more than 10 minutes. I’m glad I was able to stop him before he hurt anybody and the police did not have to shoot him because I don’t think they would’ve tried to climb on the tractor with the duals actively spinning like I did. I went home and got my tractor so I could move the merry-go-round out of the street.
