Support for Mother's Battle with Necrotizing Pneumonia
Donation protected
On Monday 1-27-25 my mother was taken to her local hospital with difficulty breathing and spitting up blood.
After performing a CT the hospital determined she had necrotizing pneumonia. A rare but severe complication resulting from a lung infection. Necrotizing pneumonia is the liquefaction following the death of lung tissues.
She was flown to a larger area hospital to receive a higher level of care. Where she is still currently admitted and is receiving around the clock antibiotics and oxygen to help her fights off the infection.
Unfortunately the necrotized area of her lung is fairly large. If she is unable to fight off the infection she will need to have that lobe removed. The doctors are currently hopeful that will not be the case, but they are keeping a close eye on her and doing what they can so she can keep her lung.
My mother is the primary caregiver for our youngest sibling who is only 12 years old. Her illness and hospitalization has put her out of work, unable to provide an income to manage bills or to care for the youngest.
We are expecting her to remain hospitalized for the foreseeable future. If and when she is discharge home she will be unable to return to work for some time as she will be on home health and at home IV therapy.
I have started this GoFundMe to help cover costs of her medical expenses following an extended stay in the hospital, as well as home health and IV therapy visits, rent, normal monthly bills, and care for the youngest.
Thank you very much for everyone’s continued thoughts, prayers, and messages. Any help or share would be greatly appreciated!
