Hello, my name is Amberlee. I started this fundraiser to help my mother, Melissa Olmstead, cover her mortgage and basic living expenses while she recovers from a devastating hit-and-run car accident.

A few weeks ago, my mother survived a life-threatening, roll over crash on Interstate 5, in Centralia. She had to be life flighted to Tacoma General Hosital for emergency surgery while the person who hit her fled the scene. We are unbelievably grateful she is still with us.

My mother, Melissa, suffered 2 broken ribs, a lacerated spleen, internal bleeding, and severe bruising down the left side of her body. Doctors won't know the full extent of her injuries for weeks still, but estimates are that she will be out of work for at least 3 months. The sudden loss of full-time income puts her most essential expenses, including her home, at risk.

My mother is a fighter, and is incredibly resilient. She raised 6 children on her own while working full time, and just completed her Master's degree., which she fought for with everything she had. She has aways been the one helping others. Right now, though, she really needs a hand up while she heals.
