February 21, 2019 PROGRESS UPDATE:

Morgan is back in Marquette for in-patient rehabilitation.  She was able to be discharged from the Mayo Clinic on Friday, 15th and she was able to ride with her Mother and her Grandmother straight to Marquette, leaving Mayo after 2 weeks of treatment.   I saw first hand on Sunday, the 10th that Morgan's spunk and fantastic attitude is responsible for her amazing recovery.   She is yearning to spend time with Rory (Gregory) and hopes to be with him soon.   Although Morgan and Kim will learn more tomorrow, they are anticipating a release from rehabilitation to live at Kim's house sometime next week.

Morgan still needs your love, prayers and positive thoughts, as your support has meant so much to her recovery.

Feb. 11, 2019 PROGRESS UPDATE:

Morgan is undergoing treatment at Mayo Clinic in Rochester for tumefactive MS which is an autoimmune disorder. Mayo confirmed what Marquette suspected and she has been receiving treatment to basically clean the antibodies from her blood while recovering from the surgery on her front temporal lobe.
It is anticipated that Morgan will finish her treatments this week and transfer to Marquette for in-patient rehabilitation therapy.
THANK YOU ALL !  The go fund me and the account set up at Superior National Bank has helped Kim and Morgan focus on her health during this struggle.

As some of you may already know, Morgan (Honold) Archambeau was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis while still in high school which is extremely rare for that age. She is a real trooper and was leading a normal life of a 22 year old woman with her 2 year old son Gregory.  Then on Friday, January 25th her life was turned upside down starting with a seizure during her physical therapy appointment.  While in the Emergency Department for several hours, a second seizure and a CAT scan proved her brain was swelling and an urgent plan was enacted to med vac her to Marquette to consult a neurologist.

While in the air, the neurology team in Marquette determined she needed immediate surgery which first required her to be put under anesthesia in order to perform a MRI before being whisked into surgery.  Her Mom and Dad were told how serious her condition was, and three hours later they were told that a lesion the size of a small walnut was removed from her right front temporal lobe and there was a drain tube to remove the fluid and swelling.

Within a day and a half  after she was taken into surgery, she was recovering remarkably from the trauma of brain surgery.  Her family was still cautious and they were told to take it just one hour at a time, and at each interval determined by the neurology team, her improvement was astonishing.

As anticipated she was referred to the Mayo Clinic and today, January 31, she was flown to  Rochester to address the extreme amounts of lesions that are now present that were not there in November's MRI.  Morgan has a long road ahead of her and will not be able to work.

While we are all grateful that Morgan is covered by medical insurance, there is of course a very high deductible as well as meeting the gap between the deductible and the out of pocket costs. There will be loss of wages for Morgan.  Kim will be by Morgan’s side overseeing her care, and travel and lodging costs will add up.

As the family and friends of Morgan and Kim, we will be there to support them doing the best that we can.  If you feel you can contribute to help defray the costs, we would be so appreciative and grateful.  Any funds raised will be used by Kim Hodges to pay for medical, travel and if possibly some of Morgan’s living expenses as she heals.

In addition to this Go Fund Me page, there is an account set up at Superior National Bank for Morgan under the name of Kim Hodges for those who don't use Facebook, or online fundraisers.  This is available at any SNB branch office.

Just FYI, Go Fund Me has a 2.9% transaction fee and .30 cent donation fee.

Thank you for your support and for sharing this information.
