Dear friends, some of you may have already heard of my new health challenges. About six months ago I started having some symptoms and went to get some testing done. The results of the testing confirmed metastatic pancreatic cancer.
I spent the majority of my life as an LPN, working at TMH in the ER, ICU and Cardiovascular Lab. I also worked at Big Bend Hospice, and several doctor’s offices.
My son, Preston has been a light in my life and I don’t know what I would I have done without him.. MLC is an amazing community of love, hope and peace. Love to all.

I know Helen Thrush as a dear friend. She was my neighbor for several years.
In 1993 we both traveled our own paths and moved away from one another as we raised our children and built our careers. Helen chose a path of compassion and caring, working for the ill, elderly and dying. All the many years apart she wished for a dream to move to the Miccosukee Land cooperative and be my neighbor again. 12 years ago she was able to do just that.
She purchased a small cottage in the center of a lovely meadow, with her Social Security and income supplemented by caring for an elderly ill woman.
Now she has been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. She is no longer able to work and needs extra income so that she can continue to live in her lovely little cottage with her dog Doodle until she dies. We are asking you to help support this lovely compassionate 79 year old woman with extra income to enable her to live her last days in her home and in the land of her dreams. Thank you very much for all your support.
Georjean Machulis, neighbor of Helen Thrush, Miccosukee land cooperative.
