The Emmetsburg Wrestling community and the AAU Girls Wrestling programs across our area are coming together to support one of our own during an unimaginable tragedy. Our hearts are broken for Monica Hansen and her children, Brian and Shaylee, as they navigate the devastating loss of their husband and father, Josh. Josh built a life rooted in love, faith, and the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and spending time outside weren’t just hobbies for him—they were traditions he shared with Monica, Brian, and Shaylee. The four of them created countless memories together in the places Josh loved most, and those memories will forever be a source of strength for them.

Josh was also a proud business owner. The Hansen family worked side‑by‑side at Hansen Quality Concrete, pouring their hearts into the business they built together. Their teamwork, dedication, and pride in their work were a reflection of the values Josh lived by every day. Monica has shown remarkable strength throughout her life, including her recent and courageous battle with cancer. She is generous, thoughtful, and the first to show up for others. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.

This fundraiser is especially close to the wrestling community because of Shaylee. Shaylee is a proud 7th‑grade Emmetsburg Lady E‑Hawk and a dedicated member of the Little E‑Hawk Wrestling Club and Ironhawk Wrestling Club. She is a 2X AAU Girls Wrestling placewinner, earning: 2025 AAU State – 4th Place (B‑90) and 2023 AAU State – 5th Place (A‑75).

As Monica and the kids face the emotional and financial challenges ahead, we hope to ease some of the burden through this GoFundMe.
