Stage 4 breast cancer

Hello, my name is Lexie and I am creating this fundraiser for my cousin who has been a nurse for 15 years taking care of patients with passion and unwavering selflessness. She was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer a year ago and now the cancer has spread to her bones and possibly lungs changing her diagnosis to stage 4.

The treatment plan consists of aggressive chemotherapy and alternative therapy for at least a year as long as the response to medication is positive. Monica needs help with medical expenses which include treatments, co-pays, non-reimbursable fees, housing and food since she will be taking time off from work for weekly treatment appointments. Unfortunately insurance doesn't cover alternative treatment so this expense will be an added financial burden for us but extremely necessary.

This road to recovery has been challenging and scary for my cousin, to say the least. She has had to fight daily with insurance companies to advocate for services and treatments that she needs to begin her treatments which kept her stagnating for months while the cancer continues to spread. But that hasn't changed her mindset or tenacity to fight. She continues to keep an optimistic and joyful mindset every day.
