My mom is 63 years old, a devoted grandmother of three, and one of the hardest working women I know. She has spent her entire life putting others before herself- working long hours, showing up for her family, and never complaining even when things were difficult.
Recently she was diagnosed with Dupuytren's Disease, a painful condition that is slowly taking away the use of her hand . It causes the fingers to curl inward over time due to thickened tissue beneath the skin. What started as discomfort has now progressed into severe pain, stiffness, and visible deformity in her hand. Everyday tasks that most of us take for granted like lifting groceries, holding things in her hand , or as simple as opening a bottle of soda has become painful and sometimes impossible. Without surgery , this condition can permanently deform and cripple her hand .
My mom is a strong women, but this has been hard on her. Not only is she in constant pain, but the thought of not being independent is discouraging
She does have insurance, but unfortunately it does not cover the full cost of the surgery that she urgently needs. Even with coverage , the remaining out of pocket expenses are more than she can manage on her limited income. She is barely making ends meet, and the financial burden of surgery has become overwhelming.
If you feel led to give, any amount-big or small- will go directly toward her surgery and medical expenses. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story, and for your prayers, your kindness, and your support. It truly means more than we can say
