Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read, share, and possibly donate to help my mom (Patricia Cerio) with an unexpected emergency from the most recent storm that hit earlier this past week.

Due to dangerous winds, several large trees were knocked down up and down the road her house is located on, causing the power to be knocked out for almost a total of 3 days. This caused the small water pumps on her property to fail and the overwhelming amount of rainwater to flood her entire house.

Over the years, the ditches on the property covered by the county have filled in, creating a steep slant that just leads directly down to my mom's house. My mom, not realizing this was the responsibility of the county, has put countless dollars into hiring people who could help with drainage. None have succeeded, but the pumps help in light to moderate rain. This time, the rain was too heavy and the power failed. My mom was laid off a few months ago and as a daughter, I would love nothing more than to be able to financially help her with this, but due to personal reasons, I am unable to work. So, I am doing anything I can and what most moms like myself refuse to do for ourselves when we need it, and that is ask for help. I have watched my mom put so much into this house; she deserves to rest. She should not be pulling up carpets and floorboards and trying to figure out how to save a place she is still paying on when she should be getting ready to retire. It is such a sad world we are living in where our parents are working themselves into an age and/or health where by the time they retire, they still will need help and they won't even be able to enjoy their lives. All I am asking is even if it is a little bit, please help, and if you can't help, please share this post so that maybe it will cross the path of someone who can.

So far, the costs for repairs are looking upwards in thousands of dollars and insurance does not cover water damage due to flooding/rain. I appreciate everyone's time. All the donations will go to my mother so she may use them to help pay for what she has already started accruing in costs and the ones that are yet to come, as well as flooring repairs and replacements, and hopefully a generator for the future to avoid power outage failure and bigger water pumps.
