I have been debating on doing this for a month. My mom has now been in the hospital for 93 days. My mom was diagnosed with Cirrhosis due to fatty liver 4 years ago. Unfortunately, her liver gave up on her and she needed a transplant. In December, we officially got on the transplant list to receive a liver, where we would have to do labs every single week. She would have to get fluid drained from her belly every week, and sometimes it would be up to 9 liters. Her condition started to decline in June of 2024. She was cut off from work by her primary doctor because it was a risk for her to drive due to her high levels of ammonia. Sadly, in February, I got fired because my mom's condition started declining even more and she needed more medical attention. I am the only person here that lives with her, so I had to be the one to take her, and they could not work with me any longer. Exactly 2 weeks later, at the nail salon with my mom, she gets a really intense belly pain where she cannot bear the pain. I took her to Baptist Hospital to get medical attention ASAP as Jackson was almost an hour away. At Baptist, they were killing her for a full week, overdosing her with narcotics, knowing her liver was no longer working, so then that lead to kidney failure where my moms urine was black. They kept denying my transfer to Jackson Memorial Hospital, she had an active blood infection and also peritonitis which a medical emergency and they denied transfer to Jackson everyday knowing she is a patient of that hospital because they are the ones that do transplants and are the ones who take care of her health. I had to sign an AMA form and pay for a private ambulance to get her to Jackson. When we finally get to Jackson they get rid of the infection she had and also the peritonitis. Almost a week later, my mother was slowly dying because she was so weak from all the narcotics they gave her at Baptist. Then finally, a miracle happened and we found a liver. Sadly, my mom, during surgery, had 4 cardiac arrests and was dead for 30 minutes, but by the grace of God, he saved her! Two weeks later, we found out we are back to square one because the liver took a huge hit during surgery, so we needed to retransplant my mom. Thankfully, on Wednesday, April 16, she was able to receive a new liver and we’re praying this is the one This process has been tough, scary, and heartbreaking. It’s the biggest pain I have ever endured in my life. My mom needs me full-time as the recovery phase for her will take weeks. Any help will be helpful to make this possible for me to be fully support and focus on my moms recovery ❤️ Thank you guys for reading and staying till the end. May anything you contribute, may our Lord restore you in any way you need, and may he bless you always. Thank you.
Please keep her in prayer and please share.
