Hello everyone,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our GoFundMe.
Current Updates:
Mom's surgery was a success, she is now recovering and not allowed to work or stress because there's a lot of healing going on in the heart, lungs, etc...
She still needs help to cover expenses and I want her to avoid stressing about them! All help is appreciated, sharing this fundraiser is also very appreciated
Past updates:
My mom recently suffered a heart attack and is now facing major heart surgery due to a few severely clogged arteries. Thankfully, doctors were able to stop the heart attack in time, and she is currently being monitored in the hospital while they determine the best surgical plan with a team of heart specialists.
She will be unable to work during this time—and yet, she remains the sole provider for multiple loved ones. She supports my grandmother, her partner who has dementia and requires 24/7 care, and my two younger brothers. One of my brothers is expecting a child with his fiancée (due this November), and the other is caring full-time for my mom’s partner and cannot work away from home.
My mom works long hours as a guard and has carried the financial weight of our family for years. Even now, all she can think about is how soon she can get back to work to keep her overtime. But the truth is—she shouldn't have to. This kind of stress has already caused her heart to give out, not once, but now twice. Her knee also needed surgery from overworking not too long ago. She has overcome skin cancer after a few surgeries, and the scare of tumors which were luckily not cancerous. I’m afraid for her life, and I don’t want her to work herself into an early grave.
She has always lived selflessly, sacrificing everything for others, never taking time for herself. I dream of one day giving her the peace and joy she’s never had—of taking her on vacations, letting her rest, and showing her the life she deserves. But I’m currently in transition myself—between jobs and preparing to begin teaching in a new school district across the country—so my ability to help is limited right now.
That’s why I’m asking, from the bottom of my heart: if you are able to help in any way, even just a dollar, it will mean one less worry for my mom. She would never ask for help herself, but she needs it now more than ever.
My family has come from very humble beginnings, and we’re all still finding our footing. But no one should have to sacrifice their health and their life just to survive.
Thank you for your time, your support, and your generosity.
Update: She is going to need a triple bypass this Friday according to the surgeons.
I also only have older photos, but you can see a few older photos of our family :)
