So a lot of you are aware of my mom’s current situation. Well, 7 years ago my mom had surgery at KU, and they had to remove her esophagus & most of her stomach and replaced it with colon, she has been struggling with swallowing and has had several procedures over the years. But things have continued to get worse. My mom was referred to a surgeon in Houston, TX. She was up there the first of July for tests & another dilation. They scheduled her for surgery on July 31st and things were worse then expected. She stayed in the hospital and they rescheduled her for surgery on August 5th. They then found out her nutrition lab levels were too low, so they put a feeding tube in and sent her home. She will be rescheduled for surgery again and it will be a longer stay. The cost of the trips, hotel, food & gas is a lot for my parents. I am asking anyone that would be willing to help with the cost. Not sure how many follow up trips are required.
