My mom, Joni Lorrene Cornils, also known as Joni Lorrene DeVore and Joni Lorrene Blanco, passed away on November 18th after a long, hard fight with cancer. She was always focused on family first, driving over 50 miles every week to babysit her almost-two-year-old granddaughter, Clover, up until the day she went into hospice. She had just moved in with her son, Brent, so she could be closer to family, which is what she always wanted. Unfortunately, most of her funds were drained on treatment, and our family doesn’t have enough saved on such short notice to pay for her cremation. She went into hospice suddenly on October 30th, after doing well with treatment, so we were blindsided by this possibility so close to the holidays.
All funds raised will go directly toward her cremation costs and memorial arrangements. If we receive any excess support, it will go to her husband, Carlos, to help him adjust financially during this difficult time. We are grateful for any help, no matter how small, as every bit makes a difference for our family.
I want to thank anybody who even considers donating. Times are very hard right now for everybody, and we don’t take a single cent for granted. This support would mean the world to the family she left behind, including her husband, Carlos, her son, Brent, her daughter, Shayna, and her granddaughter, Clover. Your kindness and generosity will help us honor her memory and support each other through this loss.
