Support for Mom's Cancer and Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I'm asking for your help in a time of need. If you could donate, it would help so much, and if not, please share. Your kindness and prayers are appreciated!
My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2024 and will need chemo treatment once she is better. On Jan 16th, she went into the hospital for pneumonia. I noticed she wasn't getting better as she usually does. I shared my concerns with the nurse and so on. In the middle of the night on January 21st, I got a call saying my mom was found unresponsive with no pulse, was given CPR for 8 minutes, brought back, and placed on a ventilator. Two days later, she was able to come off, but I noticed she wasn't mentally all there and very weak. I expressed my concerns again, only to walk into her room days later with her barely breathing, not conscious, on a BiPAP. She was rushed on a ventilator again and was able to come off days later. She was in the hospital almost 2 months. Her condition is improving, but she's still trying to regain her strength, mobility, and keep oxygen levels stable.
Since she's not working, she's not able to pay bills, help with food, etc., and is having to pay her insurance out of pocket now. We aren't sure when she will be able to return to work, if ever. We live together with my 9-year-old autistic son, and it's been a really stressful event. Anything donated would be greatly appreciated, and thank everyone so much in advance!
