On Monday, May 5th at 11:59 pm, my mom was rushed to the Emergency Room for excessive bleeding and hemorrhaging.

We were under the impression this may be a symptom of menopause beginning. She was given a CAT scan where a large mass was found on her cervix.

The following morning, a biopsy was done on the mass, confirming that it is cervical cancer.

The cancer is also in her fallopian tubes, meaning no procedures can be performed at this time because air could make the cancer spread like wildfire.

As of today, Tuesday, May 13th, we went to an oncology center for a PET scan to see if the cancer has spread anywhere else in her body before we start the grueling process of chemo and radiation.

At this stage, my mom will undergo chemo and radiation for 5 weeks to try and zap that mass and all of the cancer in her cervix/fallopian tubes.

We have been dealing with this issue in South Bend, but my mom was only 2 weeks away from moving back home.

As we navigate through these trying times, I am calling on our support systems for help. If you know my mom or myself, that’s a hard thing to do. But support comes in many forms. A like, a share, helpful information or resources, even just kind and supportive words are all forms of support our family could use right now.

The goal of this GoFundMe is to assist my mom in her rent and car payment as we go through chemo. Anything helps.
