This is the last thing I ever imagined having to do. My momma is not one to ever ask for or accept help. She's been the rock and support of everyone she loves. We've recently received heartbreaking news that has flipped this around. She has had numerous health issues for years. I'm not sure how it was missed or simply overlooked for so long, but she has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic pancreatic cancer that has spread to her liver and lungs. I'm still not sure any of us has processed her prognosis. They have given her anywhere from a few months to a year—with chemo. Because of her health issues, she has been out of work since February of this year. She has now exhausted all of her savings and PTO from work. We are in the process of helping her apply for disability and retirement, but those things take time. She is most concerned about being able to pay her insurance benefits through her employer. Obviously, this would be a terrible time to lose those benefits. We understand that these are difficult times for everyone, so if you're unable to help, we only ask that you try helping spread the word.
