At the beginning of December, our lives changed forever. My mom and nephew, Christian, left their house that morning to take my dad to the hospital, never imagining it would be the last time they’d be home together. My dad’s passing was sudden and heartbreaking, and since then, my mom and Christian have moved in with us temporarily as we tried to figure out the next steps. Their home was far from the rest of our family, making it difficult for us to help as much as we wanted. Thankfully, we were able to rent out her old home and find a new place for them in our neighborhood, so they can be closer to family and support.

Now, as my mom and Christian start over, there are many expenses ahead. The funds raised will go toward covering the remaining funeral costs, moving expenses, and helping them set up their new home. They’ll need to purchase new items for their place, and my mom’s car is also in need of repairs. Every bit of support will help them rebuild and find stability after such a difficult loss.
