Hello, my name is Kayahna Bodley. I am creating this go fund me accompanied by my two siblings, Kiera and Zakariya.

We create this in hopes to support our mother, Misty Hillyer, as she is in need of dire assistance and support following an unexpected stroke.

On April 10th, Misty was driving home from a previous appointment that ruled out 3 fractured metatarsal’s in her left foot ensuring that she would be in a boot for up to 6-8 weeks. Misty has worked while wearing a boot before and that was still her plan, but shortly after leaving her appointment she unexpectedly endured a stroke while driving home. This has come as a shock to her and her family as she is only 42 years young. Misty stayed at Jersey shore Hospital where she received TNK to abort the stroke, Ultrasounds, multiple MRI's and 24/7 supervision. During these procedures the doctors found two tiny foci of Leukomalacia present in both cerebral hemispheres. The cerebrum hemispheres in the brain are the parts that control muscle functions, speech, thought, emotion, reading, and more.

On April 20th, Misty had an additional MRI of the brain, neck, and spine to rule out any possibility of MS due to these tiny foci of leukomalacia visible on her brain. At this time she is still undergoing further testing, and will hopefully soon begin Physical Therapy.

All things considered, Misty is still having trouble with muscle control and numbness within her legs and feet causing her legs to give out underneath of her. Apart from her legs being numb she is also experiencing uncomfortable numbness and tingling within her trunk area, and issues with regaining and controlling steady eye sight. All of this has resulted in very little daily movement as she can’t stand for even a small period of time without feeling fatigue, and unsteady. Misty is using a walker to get around, but she is still not able to perform daily tasks that are as light as letting her dogs outside.

Misty is a single mother of 3, and has always had to work hard to support her and her children. As long as I can remember, Misty has always withheld more than one job at a time to keep her family healthy and stable. In fact, Misty was still working 17 hours a day between two jobs when she unexpectedly suffered from these medical issues. Misty is now in a (hopefully temporary) position where she is in dire need of assistance and support with daily living. She has already been off work for nearly 2 weeks, and the evaluation to return will not begin until another two weeks of progress. This time off has left her bills and her mental health in a vulnerable state, and while being unsure of when she will be able to return to work we are asking for assistance with daily living. All funds donated will go towards the costs of rent; groceries, car, phone, pet food, and medical bills!

Misty is more concerned of her absence from work than she is about resting, as she relies on her jobs for income. So If you can show support in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. Whether that’s through prayer; sharing Misty’s story, or funding a donation we thank you immensely. ❤️
