Antonia and Milen Tanev came to Canada from Bulgaria in 2012, to create a better future for their children. Milen (Jr) who is 10, and Anothony who is 7.
After a few years in the lower mainland, they moved to Quebec as this province's family assistance programs provided more support. Unfortunately, Milen struggled to find a job there and ended up returning to BC to provide for his family at a distance.
In 2020 the family was finally reunited in Port Coquitlam, and Antonia and the children joined Grace Community Church, in the summer of 2021.
Shortly after, Milen suffered a motorcycle accident and chose to return to Varna, Bulgaria to expedite a hand surgery as he could not return to work until his injury healed.
Unfortunately, while overseas, Milen contract Covid 19 and was hospitalized for 2 weeks fighting for his life. On November 19, 2021, due to complications, he succumbed to the disease, at just 45 years young.
His family in Canada are now trying to put the pieces of their life back together without him, and as he had been unable to work since August, the surviving Tanev family has found themselves in financial hardship, and this fundraiser has been started on their behalf.
Any contributions would be greatly appreciated to help support Anotina and her two boys through this difficult time.
