Mike’s journey began when he was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor. He faced this challenge with incredible strength, undergoing surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. After months of treatment, Mike was able to return to work for about eight months, giving his family hope and a sense of normalcy. Unfortunately, the tumor returned, and Mike had to endure a second surgery and more chemotherapy. Some parts of the tumor were inoperable and could not be treated with radiation, making the situation even more difficult. Mike was forced to apply for a medical leave pension and began another round of chemotherapy. For a while, the treatment worked, but after about six months, the tumor became unresponsive, and Mike has now begun palliative care. This journey has placed a significant financial strain on Mike, his wife Allison, and their 17-year-old son Ryan. The costs of ongoing medical care, services, and daily living expenses have added up quickly, making it hard for the family to keep up. The funds raised here will help offset Mike’s medical expenses and services, and create a financial buffer for Allison and Ryan as they work to recover and get their finances back in order. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated by me personally, as well as by Mike, knowing that Allison and Ryan have the support of so many people who are here for them in his absence. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference for this family during an incredibly difficult time.
