As most of you know, my father, Mike Sweeney, passed away very unexpectedly on Friday night. Our family is heartbroken, and my mom is now facing not only the loss of her husband of 42 years, but also the sudden burden of urgent expenses. While my father did have life insurance that will cover the funeral service and casket, the burial plot must be paid for out of pocket this week.

On top of that, my mom is struggling to keep up with rent, food, and bills. My father was the main provider and managed all their finances, so this transition has been overwhelming. The life insurance payout won’t arrive for at least a month, leaving her in a difficult position right now. She’s grieving the loss of her other half and shouldn’t have to worry about losing her home or caring for their dogs during this time.
