Support for Mike Shaw and family

Hello all! We’re reaching out to let you know that we are kicking off a campaign to help Mike Shaw and his family, and we need your help!

 

Some of you are aware that while getting ready for work on the morning of October 17th, Mike fell ill and was transported to the hospital via ambulance and has been in the ICU ever since. Mike, a devoted husband, family man, and father to 2 adult children and 2 very young daughters has been under 24 hour care by multiple doctors since that day. Mike has been a dedicated employee of Continental/United Airlines for 30+ years. During this time, he has been a co-worker, friend and mentor to many of us and has always been willing to lend a helping hand in any way possible. The effects of this illness are devastating his family, however, along with his will to live for his family, the doctor's and nurse's care and the medicine he is being given, he is making slow progress and faces a long road to recovery. Although insurance will cover a percentage of his medical bills, there will be a great deal of financial stress for the family after this extended hospital stay. We personally can't heal Mike, but we can help ease the financial burden and resultant stress that the family is facing. Our goal is to raise whatever we can to assist Mike and Family over the course of the next few weeks and or months.
