My brother Mike Moore passed away this morning after a long and courageous battle with bile cancer. He spent his final days in Kentucky with his daughter April, who cared for him tirelessly for the past year and a half. Mike had been on hospice, and his condition worsened until he could no longer eat. Just before Easter, April found him struggling, and she comforted him with words of love as he tried to respond. It was a heartbreaking moment for our family.

Mike was a strong, hardworking man who loved to fish and enjoyed spending time with his children. He could build anything he was asked and always tried to make the people in his life happy. He deeply respected and loved his parents, was a good father, a good brother, and a great friend. If you needed him, he would be there if he could. Sadly, Mike did not have life insurance, and there are no funds available to cover his burial. Cremation is the best option, and the funeral home will set up a small payment plan, but that would be another burden for April to carry—a constant reminder of her dad's passing.

We are trying to arrange a cremation and memorial service for Mike, and I will need to travel to Kentucky to support April. The funds raised will help cover the costs of the cremation, memorial service, my travel, and provide assistance for April as she takes time off from work to grieve and handle arrangements.
