My name is Nadia, Vita´s sister and Mike´s sister-in-law…also known as `Zia Nadia´ to Sofia and Eva. Please take a moment to read Mike´s story as he is near and dear to our hearts. About Mike…

In November 2017, Mike began to experience back pain, which he thought was related to his work as an electrician. However, by May 2018, he received surreal news…a diagnosis of stage 3 colorectal cancer. After surgery in June of 2018, Mike worked full-time as he underwent 6 months of chemotherapy sessions. His family celebrated Mike being cancer-free every time he received a “clean” CT scan.

Unfortunately, the cancer recurred in September 2019. Ever since, Mike has rallied through multiple rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and targeted therapy. His cancer has been invading the sacral bone and part of his spine. Walking has become an increasing challenge.

Mike is a loving and giving husband and father to his 2 teenage daughters (Sofia, 18 and Eva 16). He is a self-employed electrical contractor, but has been unable to work for the last few years. His wish is for his wife, Vita, to be at his side as his primary support and caregiver.

Why $120, 000?

So many friends and family have already come together to support the Di Giovannis from meals, to yard work, repairs, donations, gift certificates and words of encouragement. Mike and Vita are eternally grateful.

At this time, a collective community support would allow Mike to be at home with the supports and equipment he requires. Supplemental and IV treatments would help to optimize his quality of life. Having Vita at home has been a great source of comfort for him, but her benefits will come to an end in weeks to come. Your generosity and financial support would provide peace and eliminate any worries about day to day obligations. Caring for his family has always been Mike’s primary concern - let’s come together with an outpouring of love and support!
