Miguel is like family to us and has become the heart of our community. Recently, Miguel was detained while going about his daily routine. This sudden event has left his family facing not only emotional hardship but also significant financial challenges as they try to navigate this difficult time.

They were both shuffled through the system incredibly fast, but not without harm. Miguel has said that the experience was terrifying and traumatic and he was treated at the hospital once he arrived back in Guatemala. 

He is overwhelmed with how generous and kind everyone has been and his family is so thankful for all of the help people have offered. 

The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward legal fees to help Miguel, as well as to support his wife and son with their daily needs while he is away. Miguel has always been the first to offer a helping hand, a warm smile, or a comforting hug to anyone in need. Now, he and his family need that same kindness and support from others. As per Miguel's request, we've set up Miguel's cousin, Linda to receive the funds on his behalf.
