My name is Kelly. My mother Mickey was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer with metastasis to the brain in 2018. Given 2 months to live or 2 years with treatment, she defied all odds and went into remission that lasted just over 5 years.

Within the last few years, she’s had a few scary hospital stays where she was given very bleak outlooks, even almost losing a leg to sepsis. Again, when it was looking like the end, she somehow made a full turnaround and defied all odds again.

Now we are back again, but unfortunately, there is no option to turn around this time, though she continues to stay strong. Back in January, they found quite a few malignant nodules in each lung around the edges. They had held stable with no growth or change. On Friday, April 3rd, she woke up with a large left chest hematoma and lump with no record of falling. Admitted into the ICU, she developed many more recurring conditions, one of them being bleeding inside of her chest. That eventually was resolved, and she had to receive 4 RBC packed transfusions. Her lymph nodes were also quite enlarged. As her levels and tests were all coming back abnormal, as well as mental changes, they discovered pachymeningeal metastasis (dual metastasis) to the outer lining and middle of the brain. By the next day, it was in her bone marrow. This type of metastasis is very aggressive and is end-stage with a very low survival rate. She’s not medically stable for any type of procedures/surgery because of all of the other complications her body is fighting. Because of the mental changes, she doesn’t comprehend what’s going on. Very confused, fatigued, but still in great spirits and believes that she is doing much better. She’s started singing a lot and smiles.

She will be discharged to home with home care coming by. We don’t know how much time she has left, but it is likely to be pretty short. We have a bit put away from the first GoFundMe, but a lot was used for things she needed after the last hospital stay.

We are just looking for some help with her final costs/cremation, service, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much
