Support for Michelle After Losing Opal

Michelle Crow is a veteran and a devoted dog owner who recently experienced an unimaginable loss. Her beloved dog, Opal, was a service dog in training—just over two years old—who brought comfort, companionship, and hope to Michelle’s daily life. When Opal slipped her collar and went missing near the Maverick in Wendover, Michelle spent sleepless nights hiking all over town, searching every possible place, and walking the fence by I-80 on both sides. Her determination and love for Opal were evident in every step she took, refusing to rest until Opal was found.

Tragically, Opal was discovered deceased, leaving Michelle heartbroken and devastated. As someone who was self-training Opal to be her service dog, Michelle poured her heart into their bond and the journey they shared. The loss of Opal is not just the loss of a pet, but the loss of a companion who was becoming an essential part of Michelle’s life and well-being.

This fundraiser, organized by WendRover Pet Connection, is a way for our community to come together and support Michelle during this difficult time. The funds raised will help her as she grieves, offering comfort and showing that she is not alone. Whether you can give a little or a lot, your support will mean the world to Michelle and remind her that her community stands with her.
