This GoFundMe is beyond important to me and my family. We are desperately trying to create a solution to make such an unfair situation right.
My family has suffered one of the most horrific losses we've ever faced, which was the loss of my 7-year-old little cousin, Michael John Whitworth, back in 2022. Both his parents, Michael and Tori, as well as his little sister, are only seeking to fill a small piece of their hearts with some type of grievance that is more than well deserved for any family that has to ever go through any similar moment in life, which in this case is simply a headstone.
Back in 2023, they made a purchase from the company "Affordable Headstones" for a great amount of money to have a custom-made headstone created and installed for their little boy's gravesite. Well, that being said, they received the most downright lowest, heart-stabbing, and heartless feedback in return, which turned into being 100% robbed and stolen from. What started out as staying in contact with Michael and Tori with turnaround times and expectations for a completion date (8-9 months out and them being understanding) then turned into excuse after excuse for the delays that were drawn out for over a year.
As of May 2024, they no longer received responses to calls or texts, which led to them feeling lost and finding themselves contacting the local news. The company's lawyer then requested an even longer time frame after the news reached out to them and confronted them, which ended up being the last thing ever heard of with this situation. A retainer fee and the expenses to fight this in court just isn't something they can afford, nor is it something they feel like putting any more of their energy into dealing with.
We are now getting closer to 3 years of completely nothing with nothing else to do. We are desperately asking that you help us be able to raise a fair amount of money for this family to be able to find an honorable, 100% trustworthy company to be able to purchase a headstone to make some type of closure happen and allow them to fill a tiny spot in their hearts to complete their little boy's gravesite. With every bit of sincerity that I could give, we would graciously appreciate anything that you could help with.
